2.2-5 Connectors are a miniaturized version of 4.3-10 connectors, designed to meet the tight space conditions of small cells in mobile applications. These connectors have the form factor of a TNC connector with electrical performance similar to 4.3-10 connectors.

The 2.2-5 connectors were jointly introduced by 7 leading RF manufacturers - Developed by Telegärtner, Co-Developed and successfully field-approved by Kathrein and SPINNER, Supported by Molex, Amphenol, Commscope, JMA and Gigalane.

Key Specifications of 2.2-5 Connectors:

  • Frequency Range: Up to 20 GHz
  • Power Handling: up to 250 W (2 GHz)
  • PIM: -166 dBc @ 2 x 43 dBm
  • Return Loss (Typ.): 36 dB (Up to 6 GHz)
  • Mating Cycles: more than 100
  • Recommended Torque: 3 Nm
  • Impedance: 50 Ohm
  • Temperature: -40°C to +85°C
  • IP Classification: IP68
  • Cable Selection: From .85 to 1/2 inches
  • Mating: Screw type, Push-Pull type and Hand-screw type

Note: IEC Standardization for 2.2-5 Connectors is still in progress.
