Q. Can you give us an overview of Raditeq, including when the company was founded, its history, and how it has evolved over the years?

Edwin vom Hofe: Raditeq originated from the company DARE!! Electronics, which was founded in 1992 by Patrick and René Dijkstra. Initially, the company focused on EMC consultancy, EMC training, and the development of specialized electronic equipment. Shortly thereafter, DARE!! Electronics expanded its activities into EMC testing services and became an ISO 17025-accredited test laboratory for EMC and Product Safety.

Over the years, the company’s R&D division specialized in EMC and RF test & measurement equipment, as well as EMC automation software under the DARE!! Products brand. In November 2020, this division officially adopted the name Raditeq.

Today, Raditeq is headquartered in Woerden, the Netherlands, and employs approximately 25 people. The company develops and manufactures advanced EMC and RF test solutions that are distributed worldwide through an international network of specialized partners and distributors.

Q. How is Raditeq’s product portfolio structured today, and what are the core solutions you offer across RF and EMC testing?

Edwin vom Hofe: Raditeq’s product portfolio has evolved significantly since the introduction of its first software product, RadiMation®, in 1995. Originally developed for internal use within the EMC laboratory, customers quickly recognized its value, leading to its commercial release. Today, RadiMation is widely used by renowned companies and test laboratories around the world.

In 1999, Raditeq introduced its first hardware product, the RadiSense electric field probe. As the world’s first laser-powered E-field probe, it became an immediate success and remains one of Raditeq’s flagship products.

Today, Raditeq offers a comprehensive portfolio of EMC and RF test solutions, including EMC automation software, laser-powered E-field probes, RF power meters, RF signal generators, E-field generators, and RF switching solutions up to 60 GHz. The modular RadiMation EMC test software currently supports more than 6,500 device drivers from over 160 different instrumentation brands, enabling seamless integration in virtually any EMC test environment.

Q. Which industries and applications are currently driving the strongest adoption of your solutions?

Edwin vom Hofe: Raditeq solutions are widely used across several industries and applications. Our primary customer base includes accredited EMC test laboratories, automotive manufacturers and suppliers, consumer electronics companies, defence and aerospace organizations, research institutes, and technical universities.

The increasing complexity of electronic systems and the growing demand for EMC compliance continue to drive adoption across these sectors.

Q. Can you explain the RadiCentre Modular Test System and your modular approach to EMC/RF testing? What makes this approach different or better than traditional test setups?

Edwin vom Hofe: The RadiCentre multifunctional modular test system was introduced in the early 2000s to provide a cost-effective, flexible, and user-friendly hardware platform for customized EMC and RF test systems.

The RadiCentre acts as both the mainframe and central control interface for a variety of plug-in instruments integrated into a single modular platform. Each instrument can be operated directly through the RadiCentre touchscreen interface or remotely controlled via LAN, USB, or GPIB from a connected PC.

Compared to traditional standalone test setups, the modular RadiCentre approach offers several advantages, including reduced cabling complexity, simplified system integration, improved scalability, centralized control, and easier maintenance. This allows users to build tailored EMC test configurations that can easily evolve with changing testing requirements.

Q. Can you walk us through the different plug-in cards available for your RadiCentre modular test systems and how they enable various EMC measurements and system configurations?

Edwin vom Hofe: Raditeq offers a broad range of plug-in instrument cards for the RadiCentre modular test platform. The portfolio includes laser-powered RadiSense E-field probes covering frequencies from 9 kHz up to 60 GHz, enabling fast and highly accurate electric field measurements. For EMC immunity testing applications, Raditeq provides RF signal generator cards designed to deliver clean carrier signals with fast rise times and without unwanted overshoot or glitches - all essential characteristics for reliable EMC testing.

These signal generators are available in several frequency ranges, including 400 MHz, 1 GHz, and 6 GHz, supporting both conducted and radiated immunity applications.

RF power measurements can be performed using USB power meters for CW, pulsed, and RMS power measurements from 9 kHz up to 18 GHz.

To support automated signal routing and flexible system configurations, Raditeq also offers a wide range of RF coaxial switch cards with single or multiple-relay configurations (SPDT and SP6T). These are available with N-type, SMA, K-type, Q-type, and V-type connectors, supporting frequencies up to 67 GHz and enabling the creation of highly customized automated switching systems.

Q. Can you tell us about your RadiAmp amplifier series and the key requirements for RF power amplifiers in EMC testing?

Edwin vom Hofe: The RadiAmp RF power amplifier series has been developed in cooperation with the German manufacturer Bonn Elektronik. These amplifiers are primarily designed for conducted immunity testing applications, including IEC 61000-4-6, ISO 11452-4 BCI testing, and MIL-STD-461 CS114 testing.

The amplifiers are integrated into Raditeq’s Conducted Immunity (CI) Test Bundles, providing customers with a modular, high-quality, and fully integrated solution for conducted immunity testing.

Key requirements for EMC RF power amplifiers include linearity, fast response times, signal stability, low harmonic distortion, and reliable continuous operation — all critical factors for accurate and repeatable EMC immunity testing.

Q. Can you walk us through your RadiMation® EMC software - how it automates the EMC testing process, integrates with different test equipment, and helps engineers manage complete emission and immunity testing workflows more efficiently?

Edwin vom Hofe: RadiMation® is a modular EMC test automation software platform designed to automate EMC testing in accordance with international EMC standards. The software features an intuitive and user-friendly interface, while its modular architecture allows users to configure and adapt test routines for virtually any EMC test standard or customized test procedure.

With a library containing more than 6,500 device drivers from over 160 instrumentation brands, RadiMation enables seamless integration and automation of complex EMC test environments.

The software is fully backward-compatible, allowing users to efficiently manage historical test projects and result files. In addition, the integrated report generator enables fully automated creation of customized test reports, significantly improving workflow efficiency and reducing manual reporting efforts for EMC engineers.

Q. Raditeq offers a range of EMC test bundles that combine multiple instruments into complete systems. Can you tell us more about how these bundles are structured, what types of tests they support, and how they simplify setting up EMC test environments for engineers?

Edwin vom Hofe: Raditeq offers several pre-configured EMC test bundles built around the RadiCentre hardware platform - the “heart” of the system - combined with the RadiMation EMC software, which acts as the “brains” of the solution.

These bundles integrate carefully selected Raditeq instruments to provide complete and ready-to-use EMC test solutions for specific applications.

For example, the Conducted Immunity Test Bundle (CIB075A) is designed to perform conducted immunity testing in accordance with IEC 61000-4-6. The bundle includes the required signal generator, RF power amplifier, RF power meters, and EMC automation software. Customers only need to add application-specific accessories such as Coupling/Decoupling Networks (CDNs).

This integrated approach simplifies system configuration, reduces setup time, and ensures compatibility between all components within the EMC test environment.

Q. Can you tell us about the EMC training programs offered by Raditeq - what the different modules cover, who these courses are designed for, and what participants typically learn or gain from attending?

Edwin vom Hofe: Raditeq’s EMC training program is built on more than 35 years of experience in CE marking, EMC regulations, and electromagnetic compatibility phenomena.

We offer a variety of training modules, ranging from high-level introductions to CE marking regulations, directives, and legislation for managers to in-depth technical EMC training for electronic design engineers and EMC specialists.

The courses are designed to improve EMC awareness, provide essential technical knowledge, and help companies accelerate product development while reducing development costs and compliance risks.

Training programs are available in both Dutch and English and can be attended as open courses or organized as customized in-company training sessions tailored to specific customer requirements.

Q. Can you tell us about your global sales, distribution, and support network, and how you ensure effective service for customers worldwide?

Edwin vom Hofe: Raditeq products are promoted and sold worldwide through an international network of officially appointed EMC-focused partners and distributors.

These local partners maintain close relationships with customers, speak the local language, and understand regional market requirements and cultural differences. To maintain a high level of expertise, Raditeq provides annual product training and regularly participates in customer visits, technical seminars, and local industry events together with its partners.

Technical support is delivered by a team of product specialists who provide both remote and on-site assistance whenever required.

For repair and service handling, Raditeq operates an RMA platform with fixed repair pricing to ensure transparency and fast turnaround times. In addition, Raditeq offers ISO 17025-accredited calibration services for RadiSense probes, guaranteeing traceability and measurement accuracy.

Q. As technologies like EVs, 5G, and autonomous systems evolve, what new EMC testing challenges do they introduce, and how is Raditeq positioning its solutions to address them?

Edwin vom Hofe: The EMC test and measurement industry is continuously evolving, and as a technology leader in this field, Raditeq actively develops solutions that address emerging market requirements.

In the automotive industry, for example, EMC test efficiency and realism are becoming increasingly important as new technologies and standards are introduced. One example is the ISO 11451-5 reverberation chamber method for vehicle immunity testing, which requires highly automated EMC software and ultra-fast field strength measurement systems to significantly reduce overall test times.

The combination of RadiMation® Pro software with the RadiCentre CTR2008A modular test system and eight RadiSense Ultra laser-powered field probes enables simultaneous field measurements at speeds up to 2 MSps across all eight probes, making it highly suitable for these advanced testing applications.

At the same time, the defence and aerospace sectors are becoming increasingly important due to evolving geopolitical developments. These applications require testing at higher frequencies and stronger field strengths, creating demand for next-generation EMC test solutions.
