STMicroelectronics Introduces Single-die Quad-band Multi-Constellation GNSS Receivers with cm Level Accuracy

STMicroelectronics, a global semiconductor leader, has introduced the Teseo VI family of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers, designed to bring precise, centimeter-level positioning to mainstream automotive and industrial applications. This cutting-edge technology will enable significant advancements in ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), autonomous driving, industrial automation, asset tracking, and smart agriculture.

Teseo VI is the first GNSS receiver to integrate multi-constellation and quad-band signal processing into a single chip, drastically improving reliability, accuracy, and cost-efficiency. Its advanced dual-core architecture, powered by Arm® Cortex®-M7 processors, ensures superior performance while meeting ASIL (Automotive Safety Integrity Level) requirements for critical applications. In addition, the receiver includes ST’s proprietary Phase-Change Memory (PCM), eliminating the need for external storage and making the system more compact, cost-effective, and robust for challenging environments.

Luca Celant, General Manager of Digital Audio and Signal Solutions at STMicroelectronics, emphasized the breakthrough impact of Teseo VI. He noted that combining multi-constellation and quad-band support with high-performance computing and embedded safety features makes it a game-changer for industries that rely on highly accurate real-time positioning. Whether in automotive navigation, autonomous robots, fleet management, or smart agriculture, Teseo VI is set to redefine precise positioning technology.

The Teseo VI lineup includes multiple variants, such as the STA8600A and STA8610A, optimized for multi-constellation GNSS processing, and the STA9200MA, designed to meet stringent ISO 26262 ASIL-B functional safety standards for autonomous driving and vehicle guidance. Additionally, STMicroelectronics has introduced two new compact GNSS automotive modules—Teseo-VIC6A and Teseo-ELE6A—to facilitate easier integration into modern navigation systems.

Beyond its cutting-edge positioning capabilities, Teseo VI also includes robust cybersecurity features, such as secure boot, over-the-air firmware updates, and output-data protection, ensuring compliance with the latest UNECE R155 and ISO 21434 cybersecurity standards. This innovation not only accelerates development cycles for manufacturers but also reduces bill-of-materials costs and enhances system reliability, even in challenging conditions like urban canyons or areas with signal interference.

With the introduction of Teseo VI, STMicroelectronics is making high-precision positioning technology more accessible and scalable than ever before. The Teseo VI samples are now available upon request.
