Abracon, a global leader in frequency control and timing solutions, has developed the AR36CPT, a compact and high-performance Coherent Population Trapping (CPT) rubidium oscillator. Designed for applications requiring ultra-precise frequency stability, the AR36CPT delivers atomic-level timing performance to a wide range of industries including telecommunications, GNSS/GPS, broadcasting, and scientific research.
Leveraging the physics of rubidium atoms and the phenomenon of coherent population trapping, the AR36CPT generates a highly stable 10 MHz frequency output with an impressive stability of ±1ppb. It offers low phase noise, short time to lock, and an ultra-tight frequency accuracy of ≤5.0E-11, making it ideal for systems where timing precision is non-negotiable.
The oscillator operates at +3.3V, consumes less than 1.6W, and supports a temperature range of -40°C to +70°C, offering flexibility for both industrial and field-deployed environments. It also includes a voltage control input with a ±100 ppb pull range, enabling fine-tuning for synchronization in critical infrastructure applications.
Key Features:
- 10 MHz CMOS output with optional 1PPS
- ±1ppb frequency stability
- Allan deviation as low as 2.0E-11 @ 100s
- Compact form factor for space-constrained designs
- Voltage control input for fine frequency adjustments
The AR36CPT is suited for use in telecommunication infrastructure, GNSS/GPS systems, base stations, seismic and mining research, and even underwater sensor networks. Its robust stability and low power operation make it an excellent choice for long-term timing references in both terrestrial and mobile platforms.
