Infineon Expands its Antenna Tuner Series with Switches for RF Applications up to 7.125 GHz

Infineon Technologies, a global leader in automotive, green industrial power, power, and sensor systems, and connected secure systems, has expanded its series of antenna tuner switches with the addition of three new products: the BGSC4331MN10BGSA406MN10, and BGSA14M3N10. These antenna tuner switches cater to the growing demand for efficient antenna tuning solutions in connected devices, where antennas must perform reliably across multiple frequency bands.

Antenna tuning optimizes radiation efficiency and helps overcome design challenges, particularly in compact devices such as smartphones, wearables, and other space-constrained electronics. Infineon’s portfolio offers high-performance, low-power tuning switches that enable better connectivity and minimal signal loss in modern RF systems.

The BGSC4331MN10 combines a series of tunable capacitors with RF switch throws, optimized for RF applications from 0.4 to 7.125 GHz. It features a 0.2-3.5 pF eight-step tunable capacitor with a bypass switch, three ultra-low RON RF switch throws of just 1.25 Ohm, and high RF voltage handling of 40 V in the OFF state. Controlled via MIPI RFFE 2.1, it supports both 1.8 V and 1.2 V VIO operation, while consuming only 20 µA in active mode. Its ultra-compact form factor of 0.95 mm × 1.3 mm makes it ideal for impedance tuning, antenna tuning, tunable RF matching, and tunable filtering in advanced RF front-end designs.

The BGSA406MN10 is an ultra-high RF voltage antenna tuning switch designed as a versatile 4×SPST shunt-to-ground configuration for applications up to 7.125 GHz. It boasts a low ON resistance of 2.0 Ohm, low OFF capacitance of 110 fF, and high RF voltage ruggedness of 80 V in the OFF state. With on-chip CMOS logic, power regulation, and MIPI RFFE 2.1 control, the device enables individual or simultaneous throw programming. Supporting both 1.2 V and 1.8 V supply levels and offering extremely fast switching of 1.2 µs, it delivers high reliability and performance in antenna tuning for smartphones, cellular RF front-ends, and compact wireless devices.

The BGSA14M3N10 is a compact SP4T antenna tuning switch optimized for RF applications up to 7.125 GHz, combining low ON resistance of 1.1 Ohm with low OFF capacitance of 116 fF for minimal signal loss. It supports RF voltage handling of up to 45 V in the OFF state, operates on a single VIO supply, and offers MIPI RFFE 2.1 control with four default USID addresses via the USID_SEL pin. Its small 0.95 mm × 1.3 mm package allows integration in space-limited RF designs for impedance, capacitance, and inductance tuning, as well as tunable filtering.

With these new antenna tuner products, Infineon reinforces its position as a key enabler of high-performance RF solutions, ensuring reliable multi-band operation, low power consumption, and compact design integration for the next generation of connected devices.
