IMS 2026 Issues Call for Papers, Returns to Boston with New Venue and Format

The IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium (IMS2026) has officially started its Call for Papers, inviting contributions from researchers, engineers, and innovators across the RF, microwave, and millimeter-wave communities. The event will take place from June 7 - 12, 2026, at the newly named Thomas Michael Menino Convention and Exhibition Center in Boston, Massachusetts, marking the symposium’s return to one of its most popular host cities.

Under the theme “Revolutionizing RF,” IMS2026 introduces several key changes, including a restructured event format featuring three co-located symposia - the RF Integrated Circuits (RFIC) Symposium, the RF Technology & Techniques (RFTT) Symposium, and the RF Systems & Applications (RFSA) Symposium - alongside the ARFTG Microwave Measurement Conference. This new structure is designed to provide focused technical depth while enhancing collaboration across the broader RF ecosystem.

IMS2026 Week at a Glance Overview

The IMS Exhibition, running midweek, will again serve as the industry’s largest global showcase for RF, microwave, and millimeter-wave products and technologies. Complementing the technical sessions will be the IEEE Hard Tech Venture Summit, connecting startups and investors within the hardware innovation space. With a refreshed format, updated branding, and new digital tools, including an enhanced website and mobile app, IMS2026 aims to deliver a more integrated and accessible experience for attendees. The call for papers for IMS2026 and its associated symposia is now open, inviting contributions that shape the future of RF and microwave engineering.
