The BSDU-4X32PR from Becker RF is a Quad-Channel Non-Reflective Power Attenuator System that operates from 600 to 6000 MHz. It is a bi-directional solution designed for multi-signal routing. This attenuator consists of 4 independent signal sections and each section is equipped with an instrument port and 8 corresponding device under test (DUT) ports (32 DUT ports in total). Each DUT port is equipped with high-power attenuators and a high-isolation solid-state switch in its signal path, allowing for the individual deactivation of specific DUT signals across three switching states: through, attenuation, and OFF. This system has an attenuation range of 31 dB and a step size of 0.1 dB. It has an insertion loss of 23 dB and provides an isolation of 100 dB (DUT) and 80 dB (calibration).
The BSDU-4X32PR includes a LAN interface and a trigger input port for control using simple ASCII strings. This attenuator matrix supports a queue function that enables pre-loading of switching configurations into the matrix device for triggered execution. The system also incorporates sufficient cooling fans, controlled by a temperature feedback loop, to manage the substantial thermal energy generated by the high DUT signal power. It requires an AC supply of 90 to 260 V and consumes less than 50 W of power.
This power attenuator is available in 2U rack-mount enclosure that measures 483 x 133 x 450 mm and has SMA (female) connectors. It is ideal for massive MIMO testing, end-of-line testing, product validation of devices with GSM/UMTS/LTE/5G protocols, and antenna testing.
