The FFM51010 from Forefront RF is a Tunable Duplexer Front-End Module (FEM) designed for 4G, 5G, and 5G RedCap mobile devices and wearables operating from 612 to 960 MHz. The module supports a transmit band from 663 to 698 MHz and a receive band from 617 to 652 MHz, with a duplex spacing of 46 MHz. It is based on Foretune™ tunable duplexer technology, which combines a balanced n-plexer with adaptive passive cancellation to form a tunable duplexer architecture. This design eliminates the need for external SAW duplexers, simplifying RF front-end architecture and enabling significant size reduction in compact wireless devices.
The module supports LTE bands 5, 8, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, 26, 28, 71, 85, and 105, with 4G LTE and 5G NR channel bandwidths up to 20 MHz. It integrates an antenna-port bidirectional RF coupler and supports average power tracking (APT) and envelope tracking (ET) schemes to improve system efficiency.
The FFM51010 can be controlled via a single MIPI RFFE v3.0 interface and is available in a compact LGA package measuring 6.0 × 4.5 × 0.75 mm, making it suitable for space-constrained mobile and wearable devices.
