The QPF4609 from Qorvo is a Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) Front End Module (FEM) that operates from 5.925 to 7.125 GHz, supporting all channels from UNII-5 to UNII-8. It integrates a 6 GHz power amplifier (PA), a single-pole, two-throw switch (SP2T), a coupler structure, and a bypassable low-noise amplifier (LNA). This FEM also includes an integrated coupler with an RF output for DPD feedback training and a broad-range, constant-slope voltage logarithmic power detector for application feedback. At the Tx side it delivers a power of +26 dBm with a gain of 32 dBm, while at the Rx side it provides a gain of 16 dB with a noise figure of 1.8 dB.
The QPF4609 is optimized for a 5V supply voltage and minimizes power consumption, allowing systems that use digital pre-distortion to achieve high linear output power and leading-edge throughput for the RF chain. It requires a DC supply of 5 V and consumes less than 228 mA of current. This module is available in a laminate package that measures 3.0 x 3.0 mm. It is ideal for Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) systems like access points, wireless routers, set-top boxes, customer premise equipment, and Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
