The QTM547 from Qualcomm is a mmWave Antenna Module that operates in the n257, n258, n259, n260, and n261 bands. It is designed to deliver fixed broadband services over 5G network infrastructure, enabling last-mile connectivity in urban, suburban, and rural environments. This module incorporates Qualcomm’s Dynamic Antenna Steering technology, allowing it to dynamically rotate and receive the strongest signal. This ensures optimum performance and enables 30% improvement in scan coverage compared to its predecessor. The module consists of a 5G NR transceiver, a PMIC, an RF front-end, and a phased antenna array. It uses 2x2 MIMO with dual-layer polarization over 1 GHz bandwidth in both uplink and downlink.
The QTM547 antenna module supports Power Class 1 and Class 5 profiles, and can also be configured to support 16 to 64 dual polarization antenna elements, thereby extending peak EIRP up to 48 dBm. It also supports other signal processing technologies, such as beam tracking with carrier aggregation and dual connectivity to maximize signal strength. This antenna module is available in a surface mount package and is ideal for 5G mmWave communication applications.
