The Teseo-VIC6A from STMicroelectronics is an Automotive-Qualified Quad-Band GNSS Module. It is a certified solution that optimizes the time to market of final applications. This AEC-Q104-qualified module simultaneously supports multiple constellations – GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, SBAS, IRNSS, QZSS, and BeiDou. It is based on the Teseo VI GNSS IC that consists of an ARM Cortex M7 core, a G6BB block, power management unit, and connectivity interfaces. This module also includes an on-board TCXO, an RTC crystal, a core power supply, a 6-axis inertial sensor, and a SAW device. It has 192 signal tracking channels with 96 data channels and 96 pilot channels and provides sub-meter CEP positioning accuracy. This GNSS module has a tracking sensitivity of -163 dBm.
The Teseo-VIC6A offers excellent accuracy with the TCXO and provides a reduced time-to-first-fix (TTFF) using a dedicated RTC oscillator. This GNSS module’s embedded flash memory has additional features such as autonomous assisting and real-time assisting of GNSS services for 7 days. The module also supports firewall configurability and upgrades along with embedded firmware that greatly saves development time. This GNSS module can be controlled through I2C, UART, and GPIO interfaces. It requires a DC supply of 3.3 V. This module is available in an LCC package that measures 16.00 x 12.20 x 2.42 mm.
