The Y-Packet 2 from Micran is a Microwave Backhaul Radio that operates from 5 to 24 GHz (licensed and unlicensed). It is a cost-effective solution designed to deliver voice and premium data services to public and private enterprise networks while reducing rental costs. This radio consists of an NFC chip that allows users to set parameters by bringing the smartphone close to the radio, thereby optimizing the network performance. It implements adaptive modulation and automatic power control mechanisms to achieve high communication capabilities with low interference. This radio delivers a Tx output power of 34 dBm and has an Rx sensitivity of -94 dBm. It provides a data rate of up to 1 Gbps (with 1+0/1+1 HSB/1+1 FD/2+0 RLA/2+0 XPIC RLA). 

The Y-Packet 2 utilizes co-channel dual polarization mode with cross-polarization interference canceller (XPIC) technique that doubles the spectrum efficiency and cancels out oppositely polarized signals at the receiver. This radio offers a web management interface based on AJAX technology, enabling touchless configuration. It can be remotely controlled with the click of a button, establishing a secure tunnel to the device without requiring any configuration. This backhaul radio can also be configured over secure protocols – HTTPS and SSH. It can be powered either using a 220/48 VDC (PoE) or 48 VDC (ODU) and consumes 45 W of power. This backhaul radio is available in an enclosure measuring 225 x 230 x 115 mm and is suitable for use in SFN DVB-T networks.
