The Proxim GX60 from Proxim Wireless is a wireless backhaul radio platform that operates from 57 to 71 GHz, covering the unlicensed 60 GHz band. It is designed for high-capacity point-to-point (PtP) and point-to-multipoint (PtMP) deployments, delivering multi-gigabit connectivity for applications such as residential broadband, enterprise networks, smart cities, and Wi-Fi backhaul. The radio supports channel bandwidths of 1 and 2 GHz and provides data rates of up to 2 Gbps using a proprietary TDMA scheduling protocol with TDD duplexing.
The GX60 integrates a 90° beamforming antenna for simplified alignment and can be paired with optional antenna kits to enhance directionality and link performance, achieving an EIRP of up to 38 dBm (60 dBm with antenna kits). It offers an azimuth coverage of ±45° and elevation coverage of ±25°. The platform supports AES-128 with GCMP encryption, along with secure access via TLS 1.3, and includes a web-based GUI, SNMP, and RESTful APIs for network management. It features 1 Gbps and 2.5 Gbps Ethernet interfaces with automatic failover, supports 802.3at-compliant PoE, and consumes 17 W (up to 41 W with PoE out). The unit is housed in a compact enclosure measuring 5 × 5 × 2 inches.
