The BVA7242N from BeRex is a Digital-Controlled Variable Gain Amplifier that operates from 3.0 to 4.2 GHz. It has a high-performance 7-bit digital step attenuator (DSA), that provides an attenuation range of up to 31.75 dB in 0.25 dB steps, and two amplifiers. This variable gain amplifier provides a gain from 31 to 36 dB, has a noise figure of 1.9 dB and a P1dB of 19.6 dBm. It has a digital control interface that supports serial programming of the DSA and has a power-down feature for power savings with power down (P/D) mode.

The BVA7242N requires a DC supply of 5 V and consumes less than 195 mA. It is available in an LGA package that measures 6.00 x 6.00 x 0.95 mm and is suitable for applications in 5G/4G/3G wireless infrastructure, small cells, and repeaters.
