The Cerus 4 from Filtronic are Power Amplifiers that operate from 71 to 76 GHz and 81 to 86 GHz. They deliver a saturated output power of 33 dBm (~2 W) with more than 20 dB of gain. These amplifiers feature 4x Filtronic GaAs HEMT PA MMICs and support 256QAM modulation for high linearity. They have an integrated temperature sensor that provides users with accurate amplifier temperature data, and optional control circuitry facilitates functions including gain control, mute control, and alarms.
The amplifiers are available in 1, 4, and 8-way configurations and deliver excellent performance for long-range E-Band communications. They require DC supplies of ±5 V and consume less than 6 A of current. The amplifiers are available in modules that measure 40 x 40 x 47 mm with WR-12 waveguide interfaces and are suitable for military and commercial applications along with low SWAP airborne and HAPS applications.
