The 20 W SSPA from L3Harris Technologies is a GaN Solid-State Power Amplifier (SSPA) that operates in the 1.625–1.85 GHz, 2.20–2.5 GHz, 4.4–4.94 GHz, and 5.25–5.85 GHz frequency bands. It is a digitally controlled, dual-output power amplifier that integrates four independent GaN SSPAs covering the L-, S-, lower C-, and upper C-bands, making it suitable for multi-band pod applications in rugged, SWaP-constrained environments. This SSPA can be paired with multi-band modems for standalone operation or integrated with additional components to form a duplex system. It delivers an output power of up to 43 dBm (20 W).
The 20 W SSPA includes an RS-422 digital control interface for band selection, blanking, and monitoring of temperature, RF output power, and VSWR fault status. It requires a 26 to 32 V DC supply and has a maximum power consumption of 126 W. This amplifier is available in a compact, low-SWaP enclosure measuring 5.63 × 4.88 × 0.94 inches and is tested in accordance with MIL-STD-810F for shock resistance.
