The TA1056 from Triad RF Systems is a GaN SISO Power Amplifier that operates from 20 to 1000 MHz. It is designed for military and commercial radio systems that require high power density, efficiency, and linearity in a low-SWaP package, and supports any signal type and modulation format. This Class AB amplifier delivers a saturated output power of 46 dBm, with a small-signal gain of 50 dB and a gain flatness of less than 3 dB peak-to-peak. It has an input return loss of better than 7 dB and a Tx switching time of 3 to 5 µs. It delivers 37 dBm output power for 64QAM and 44 dBm for BPSK signals over a 20 MHz bandwidth, with EVM better than -27 dB and -7 dB, respectively. It also integrates over-temperature protection with a 90°C trip point and a temperature monitor output.
The TA1056 requires a DC supply of 27 to 30 V and draws up to 3.9 A of current. It is available in a compact baseplate-cooled module measuring 101.3 × 58.4 × 21.6 mm and has SMA (female) connectors. It can operate over a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C with an IP54 ingress protection rating and is ideal for use in military and commercial radio systems, unmanned systems, vehicle systems, aircraft systems, and fixed-site infrastructure applications.
