The 50P-2111 from JFW Industries is a Bi-Directional, Solid-State Programmable Attenuator that operates from 200 to 8000 MHz. It has an attenuation range from 0 to 95 dB with a step size of 1 dB (1, 2, 4, 8, 16 and 32 dB step options available). The attenuator has an insertion loss of less than 7 dB and a typical switching speed of 0.7 µs. It is a bi-directional attenuator assembly, but the ports are labeled “input” and “output” because they have different maximum power ratings with the input port being rated for +24 dBm and the output port rated for +15 dBm. This 50-ohm attenuator requires a DC supply of 5 V and is available in a module with SMA-female connectors.
This USB attenuator is provided with test software that can control multiple JFW USB attenuators to allow for handover signal fade testing. A JFW managed library is also provided for development in user made applications.
