The UCODE X from NXP is a RAIN RFID Tag designed to support accurate tagging of smaller items. It is compliant with global standards – GS1 EPC Gen2 v2.1, ARC category, and GS1 Gen2v2 - enabling high read/write capability and rapid encoding speeds on challenging products. This tag consists of an analog front-end, memories (96-208-bit EPC memory and 0-32-bit user memory, TID, and reserved), security functions, and digital control. The tag also offers flexible memory options to address specific user cases and strike the right balance between EPC size and available user memory. This tag has a write speed of 32 bits in 1.9 ms, a write sensitivity of -23 dBm, and a read sensitivity of -26.2 dBm.
The UCODE X’s front-end utilizes a self-adjustment feature that optimizes the tag’s performance according to the surrounding environment. This RFID tag also supports extendable read range and antenna downsizing for efficient integration and performance. It is built with multiple privacy capabilities, including a memory safeguard for integrity protection, access and kill passwords (LOCK/PERMALOCK), and an optional password reallocation to boost memory. This tag has low power consumption, thereby extending its operational life. It is available in a chip package and is suitable for use in retail, logistics, supply chain, warehouses, healthcare, and automotive applications.
