The GaN S SSPA from Celestia TTI is a GaN Solid-State Power Amplifier (SSPA) that operates from 2.2 to 2.7 GHz. It is designed to deliver robust performance with high radiation tolerance, making it suitable for space missions (LEO, MEO, GEO, and near Earth). This power amplifier is based on GaN technology that provides high DC to RF conversion and exhibits high linearity, independent of the modulation technique used. It supports closed loop fixed gain mode (FGM) and automatic level control (ALC) operating modes. This amplifier delivers a saturated output power of 5/10 or 20 W with a gain flatness of 1 dBp-p.
The GaN S SSPA is also equipped with a DC-DC converter that integrates an EMI filter to ensure low spurious operation, and provides galvanic isolation with multiple protection functions for safe operation. It can be controlled using high level pulsed signals and remote ON/OFF commands to monitor analog telemetry parameters such as input current and RF output power. This SSPA requires a 28 V DC supply and consumes 40 W of power. It is available in a compact enclosure measuring 175 x 110 x 113 mm and has an SMA (female) connector at the input, and a TNC (female) connector at the output port.
