The VSG200 from Signal Hound is a Vector Signal Generator (VSG) that operates from 100 kHz to 20 GHz. It incorporates a dual 14-bit DAC and a digitally adjustable internal VCTCXO. The DAC runs by sampling at 2/3x the I/Q symbol rate using digital oversampling to provide a flat and clean baseband signal, while the VCTCXO ensures minimal frequency errors over temperature. This VSG includes a wide range of pre-programmed modulation schemes, including AWGN, QAM, custom OFDM, and I/Q offset. It has an output power range of -55 dBm to +10 dBm. This signal generator has harmonic levels of -35 dBc and a phase noise of -125 dBc/Hz (at 10 kHz offset).
The VSG200 also provides API support to either continuously stream I/Q data to the signal generator or use the software to load a CSV/binary short int/binary floating point I/Q file. This vector signal generator can be remotely controlled from an x64_86 computer via a USB Type-C interface. It consumes 10 W of power. This VSG is available in a tabletop enclosure measuring 8.00 x 5.14 x 1.41 inches. It is ideal for Wi-Fi/Bluetooth testing, CCDF, amplifier EVM testing, pulse/FM chirp generation, manufacturing testing, and general-purpose RF test & measurement applications.
