CATV Amplifiers
CATV Amplifier (Cable TV Amplifier) is a type of RF amplifier that is designed to amplify TV signals and upstream/downstream signals in CATV applications. They are also called a community access television amplifier and are usually installed in-line with coaxial cables.
In downstream path, CATV amplifier amplifies weak signal from the headend of CATV system with minimal distortion and sends it to cable TV and other internet access devices. The headend is the master facility (located before the CATV amplifier) to receive TV signals for processing and distributing to the CATV system. These amplifiers are designed to operate at frequencies specific to CATV to minimize amplification of unintended frequency bands and noise. In upstream path, this amplifier amplifies the transmitting signal from the user end and provides linear output power to enable better transport of data and content streaming in DOCSIS 3.1 and DOCSIS 4.0 standards.
The CATV amplifiers are ideal for use in CATV reverse path applications, CATV line amplifiers, Fiber to the home (FTTH), satellite TV (SATV), base station infrastructure, balanced antenna applications, HFC Optical Nodes, general-purpose wireless, DOCSIS 3.1 & DOCSIS 4.0 applications and other applications.
