High-Performance Handheld Real-Time Spectrum Analyzer from 9 kHz to 9 GHz for Field Applications

Ceyear, a developer of electronic measurement instruments, automatic testing systems, and microwave and millimeter-wave components, has developed a High-Performance Spectrum Analyzer that operates in the 9 kHz to 9 GHz range for Wireless Communication applications. The 4024CA is a broadband handheld real-time spectrum analyzer with a real-time analysis bandwidth of 120 MHz, making it suitable for field testing.

The 4024CA provides advanced measurement and analysis capabilities across multiple wireless standards. It supports real-time spectrum analysis with persistence spectrum and waterfall display modes, as well as demodulation analysis for 5G NR, LTE FDD/TDD, and GSM/EDGE signals. It is also equipped with directional analysis, interference detection, and field strength measurements. Other features include channel power, occupied bandwidth, adjacent channel power ratio, emission mask analysis, audio demodulation, harmonic distortion evaluation, and carrier-to-noise ratio testing. With indoor and outdoor map-based measurement functionality combined with GPS/BEIDOU positioning, the analyzer is capable of location-based spectrum assessments and frequency calibration.

Designed with field applications in mind, the 4024CA adopts a handheld chassis that is compact, lightweight, and powered either by battery or AC supply. This flexibility, combined with its portability, ensures ease of use during on-site operations such as base station installation, commissioning, and maintenance.

Spectrum Analysis Mode

This spectrum analyzer has an 8.4-inch high-definition LCD with capacitive touch capability, offering a user-friendly interface and multiple display modes that simplify operation and data visualization. Its rugged build and wide operating temperature range from –10°C to +50°C make it highly dependable for outdoor deployment in diverse environments.

RTSA Persistence Mode

The 4024CA has an integrated full-band preamplifier, that allows it to achieve a low displayed average noise level of -163 dBm at 1 Hz RBW (typical), and excellent phase noise performance of -115 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz offset with a 1 GHz carrier. The input third-order intercept point reaches +13 dBm (typical), while amplitude accuracy is maintained within ±1.3 dB.

Interference Analysis Mode

The 4024CA further supports resolution bandwidth settings from 1 Hz to 10 MHz with fine step control, as well as 20 MHz bandwidth options. It enables real-time spectrum analysis with a probability of intercept as low as 5.8 μs and supports 512 MHz IQ waveform capture, delivering precision for broadband and transient signal evaluation. Auxiliary interfaces, including 10 MHz reference input and output, GPS antenna input, zero-span IF output, and external trigger input, provide added flexibility for system integration and specialized measurement tasks.

5G-NR Measurement

The 4024CA addresses a wide range of applications across wireless communication systems. For comprehensive base station performance evaluation, it supports advanced demodulation and spectrum analysis functions that assist in the installation and maintenance of 5G, LTE, and GSM infrastructure. In transmitter and receiver diagnostics, the analyzer provides real-time insights into signal integrity, interference sources, and emission compliance, with additional features such as indoor and outdoor mapping, channel power analysis, and field strength measurements enhancing its diagnostic capabilities.

When connected to an external directional antenna, the 4024CA extends its role into electromagnetic environment monitoring, interference recognition, spectrum background assessment, and unauthorized channel detection. These capabilities make it a versatile tool for ensuring reliable operation of modern communication systems in both controlled and challenging environments.
