Siglent Introduces Portable 6.5 GHz Network Analyzer for Advanced R&D and Production Testing

SIGLENT has introduced the SNA5000X-E series vector network analyzer, a compact, entry-level option within the SNA5000 lineup, operating from 9 kHz to 6.5 GHz with a frequency resolution of 1 Hz. The instrument maintains the core architecture of the SNA5000A family while focusing on essential vector network analysis functions. It supports adjustable IF bandwidths from 1 Hz to 10 MHz, an output level range of -40 dBm to +10 dBm, and a typical dynamic range of 125 dB.

Designed for modern laboratories and production lines, the SNA5000X-E features a compact form factor with an instrument depth of only 12.6 cm, significantly reducing workspace requirements compared to traditional network analyzers. A 12.1-inch touchscreen supports multi-window display and multiple data formats, providing an intuitive and efficient operating experience. HDMI video output further enhances flexibility for external display or collaboration.

The instrument includes two ports and supports measurements such as spectrum analysis, time-domain analysis, and enhanced time-domain analysis. This analyzer offers S-parameter and differential parameter measurements, along with integrated time-domain capabilities for examining impedance discontinuities and locating faults in devices under test. A built-in eye-diagram function enables additional analysis of high-speed signal behavior. Supported calibration methods include response, enhanced response, full one-port, full two-port, and TRL calibration.

To address fixture-induced measurement errors commonly encountered in RF testing, the SNA5000X-E incorporates automatic fixture removal, port extension, de-embedding, and impedance conversion functions. These tools effectively compensate for cable delay and loss, minimizing systematic errors and ensuring high confidence in measurement results. Measurement functions also cover scattering parameter testing, receiver measurements, fixture simulation, adapter removal or insertion, and spectrum analysis.

For production and automated test environments, the SNA5000X-E offers one-click filter characteristic analysis to quickly obtain key parameters such as insertion loss and bandwidth. Support for custom formula operations and remote control via SCPI and an integrated web server enables seamless integration into automated systems, helping to standardize and streamline testing workflows.

The SNA5000X-E series includes models covering 9 kHz to 3 GHz and 9 kHz to 6.5 GHz, each offering 2 to 20,001 sweep points, a level resolution of 0.05 dB, and internal bias-tee support. Multiple sweep modes are available, including linear frequency, logarithmic frequency, power sweep, CW time, and segmented sweep operation.

Connectivity options include LAN, USB Device, and USB Host with USB-GPIB support, along with remote control interfaces such as SCPI, LabVIEW, IVI, USB-TMC, VXI-11, socket, Telnet, and a web interface.

Standard accessories include a USB cable, wireless mouse, power cord, protective cover, and calibration certificate, with optional accessories available for expanded functionality.
