Rohde & Schwarz to Showcase Next-Generation Mission-Critical Communications Solutions at CCW 2026

Rohde & Schwarz will present a comprehensive testing and monitoring ecosystem for the global transition from narrowband to broadband for mission-critical networks at Critical Communications World (CCW), June 16–18, 2026, at the ExCeL London convention center. As a new member of the TCCA, the company will present solutions to improve 4G and 5G resilience and meet the industry's need for fail-safe communication where human lives are at risk.

A major highlight is the CMX500 one-box tester, now supporting full conformance testing for Mission Critical Push-to-Talk (MCPTT). As the only active GCF-certified test platform for mission-critical services, it lets manufacturers reliably certify MCX devices. The solution provides complete 3GPP-compliant protocol testing and interoperability verification, enabling devices and servers from different vendors to function seamlessly across complex 5G network slices.

Rohde & Schwarz will showcase its mobile network testing portfolio for field operations and network optimization, including the R&S®TSMx scanner and QualiPoc Android software suite, which can be used to validate MCPTT services end-to-end and measure critical Quality of Experience (QoE) metrics. By automating service tests and integrating third-party MCX applications, the solution helps identify "blind spots" and network instability in a controlled environment before first responders use them in the field.

The company is introducing the R&S®PR300 portable monitoring receiver for spectrum security. This handheld device defines a new market standard with 125 MHz of real-time bandwidth and scan speeds of over 500 GHz/s for rapid detection of interfering signals. When paired with the R&S®MP007 man-portable system and CEPTOR software, the R&S®PR300 provides comprehensive spectrum situational awareness and high-precision direction finding essential for maintaining clear communication channels in complex RF environments.

"Our goal is to provide a one-stop shop for the entire mission-critical communications chain," says Massimiliano Mannelli, Director of Product Management for Network and Spectrum Monitoring at Rohde & Schwarz. "As agencies migrate to broadband, our solutions shift failure points from the field to the lab. We ensure that when a first responder hits the 'Push-to-Talk' button, they have a connection regardless of the underlying network complexity."

Representatives from emergency services and regulatory bodies are invited to experience these demonstrations firsthand.
