The StarLab ULTRA – Passive from Microwave Vision Group is an Over-The-Air (OTA) and Passive Multi-Probe Antenna Measurement System that operates from 18 to 50 GHz. It is designed to offer a scalable architecture, flexible system configuration, and modular software options, addressing both current and future testing needs. This multi-probe test system allows users to perform passive and OTA testing of non-signaling uplink and downlink of systems in defense & aerospace applications. It can measure near-field spherical and cylindrical radiation patterns of devices under test (DUTs) with parameters, including gain, directivity, beamwidth, sidelobe levels, and antenna efficiency. This system includes 29 probe arrays, a power & control unit, Tx/Rx amplifiers, an instrumentation rack, UPS, and a VNA. It has a measurement time of 1.5 hours, has a dynamic range of 50 dB, and a probe-to-probe angle of 11.25°.
The StarLab ULTRA – Passive integrates rubberized absorbers on the wall for on-the-fly measurements with high accuracy. This OTA test system is equipped with dedicated software packages – passive-advanced for expanded computation, analysis, improved near-field to far-field transformation, spherical-field measurements in truncated region, etc. It also supports Developer mode that provides full control over the system with both OTA and non-signaling & API integration. The developer mode enables custom scripting and automation externally to control over MVG systems (Arch API) and software (Remote WaveStudio API). This OTA system measures 1.9 x 1.1 x 2.0 m and allows Styrofoam and ultra-rigid mast mounting of DUTs within the chamber.
