The 2500A225B from AR RF/Microwave Instrumentation is a Solid-State Amplifier that operates from 10 kHz to 225 MHz. This self-contained, air-cooled amplifier, when used with a sweep generator, delivers more than 2500 W of output power with a gain of over 64 dB and has a noise figure of 7 dB. The amplifier has a typical spurious level of -70 dBc and a harmonic distortion of -30 dBc. It is protected from RF input overdrive by an input leveling circuit which controls the RF input level to the amplifier first stage when the input level is increased above 0 dBm.

The 2500A225B is equipped with a Digital Control Panel (DCP) which provides both local and remote control of the amplifier. The DCP uses a color LCD touch screen display to indicate the operating status and fault conditions if an over-temperature or power supply fault has occurred. All amplifier control functions and status indications are available remotely through the included remotes package. The amplifier can be remote controlled via GPIB/IEEE-488 format, RS-232 hardwire and fiber optic, USB, and Ethernet interfaces. Also included with the remote control package is a safety interlock circuit for use with external safety switch interlocks.

The amplifier is available in a cabinet that measures 56.1 x 132.1 x 82.4 cm with N-type (female) and 7/16 DIN female connectors. It requires (user-specified) 200-240 VAC or 380-415 VAC, 3-phase, 50/60Hz power supply. The export classification for this equipment is EAR99. This amplifier can be used for a wide range of applications including EMC Testing.
