The R&S BBA300-FG Series from Rohde & Schwarz are Solid-State Power Amplifiers (SSPAs) that operate from 6 to 18 GHz. They are modular broadband semiconductor amplifiers designed for high availability. These SSPAs support continuous sweeping of RF signals over the frequency range, which speeds up EMC, RF component, and device testing for wireless manufacturers. Their modularity allows versatile scaling of the amplifier performance to suit various applications such as GSM, LTE, 5G, WLAN, Bluetooth, and GPRS mobile communications. These amplifiers deliver an output power of 30 to 300 W (CW) with a gain of more than 15 dB and a gain flatness of ±3.5 dB. They have harmonic levels of less than -20 dBc and a noise power density of -110 dBm/Hz.
The R&S BBA300-FG Series allows narrowband signals such as AM, FM, PM, and complex signals like OFDM with 200 MHz bandwidth to be amplified for better signal integrity. These amplifiers are equipped with the R&S BBA300-PK1 software option that sets the bias point between Class A and Class AB designs, and adjusts the output power & mismatch tolerance for optimizing output signals. They have a 10-inch touchscreen that provides straightforward control either on-site or remotely using SCPI commands and Ethernet interfaces. These broadband amplifiers are available in rack-mount enclosures and have N-type (female) connectors. They are suitable for test and measurement applications.
