The BMD-380 Series from u-blox are Stand-alone Bluetooth 5 low energy modules that support NFC and IEEE 802.15.4 with Thread and Zigbee. Based on Nordic’s nRF52840 chip, BMD-380 modules support a number of Bluetooth features including Bluetooth long-range, Bluetooth mesh, and Bluetooth Advertising Extensions. They provide an extended communication range of up to 500 m with a transmit power as high as 8 dBm and have a receiver sensitivity of -96 dBm. With an Arm® Cortex®-M4 with FPU processor integrated 2.4 GHz transceiver, and an internal chip antenna, the BMD-380 provides a complete RF solution allowing faster time to market with reduced development costs.
The BMD-380 modules measure 9.5 x 7.5 x 1.5 mm and are ideal for Climate Control, Lighting products, Safety and Security, Home Appliances, Access Control, Internet of Things, Home Health Care, Advanced Remote Controls, Smart Energy Management, Low-Power Sensor Networks, Interactive Entertainment Devices, Environmental Monitoring, and Automation applications. These modules operate over a temperature range of -40 °C to +85 °C. This BMD-380 series is certified for Europe, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. A range of wired interfaces like UART, ADC, SPI, I2C, I2S, USB, PDM, PWM, and GPIOare also available.
