The ADRF5422 from Analog Devices is a Silicon Nonreflective SPDT Switch that operates from 100 MHz to 55 GHz. It has an insertion loss of less than 3.6 dB, an isolation of up to 43 dB, and a switching speed of 20 ns (on and off time). This switch can handle up to 30 dBm of input power and has a return loss of less than 20 dB. It is manufactured in the silicon process attached to a gallium arsenide (GaAs) carrier substrate. It is complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) compatible and has low voltage transistor logic (LVTTL)-compatible controls.
The ADRF5422 requires a dual DC supply of ±3.3 V, consuming 140 μA (positive supply) & 510 μA (negative supply) of current. It can also operate on a single positive supply when the negative supply voltage (VSS) is connected to ground. This switch is available in a bare die chip package that measures 3.21 x 2.305 mm and has bond pads for chip & wire assembly. It is ideal for test & instrumentation, cellular infrastructure, 5G mmWave, military radios, radars, electronic countermeasures (ECMs), microwave radios, very small aperture terminals (VSATs), and industrial scanner applications.
