The EFR32BG29 Series 2 from Silicon Labs are Bluetooth 5.4 Wireless Systems-on-Chip (SoCs) that operate in the 2.4 GHz band. They are designed for secure, low-power, and high-performance wireless networking for IoT devices. These wireless SoCs consist of a 32-bit 76.8 MHz ARM Cortex-M33 processor with DSP and floating-point unit in the core with up to 1 MB Flash and 256 KB RAM. They also integrate a 2.4 GHz radio, clock management, energy management, security, serial interfaces, analog I/F, I/O ports, and timers & triggers. They primarily support Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and other proprietary protocols. These Bluetooth SoCs also utilize multiple modulation schemes such as 2(G)FSK with fully configurable shaping, OQPSK DSSS, and (G)MSK. 

The EFR32BG29 Series 2 is equipped with SecureVault feature that includes a rich set of security functionalities – AES128/192/256, true random number generator, ARM TrustZone, secure boot, anti-tamper, and secure attestation to protect the data streams. These SoCs have peripherals such as a 16-bit ADC and an 8-channel DMA controller to provide data read-outs and can be controlled through built-in EUSART, UART, SPI, and I2S interfaces. They deliver an output power of up to +8 dBm and have a receive sensitivity of -106.8 dBm. These wireless SoCs require a DC supply of 1.8-3.8 V (with buck DC-DC) and 1.2-1.7 V (with boost DC-DC), and consume 11 mA (Tx) and 3.6 mA (Rx) of current. They are available in WLCSP45 packages measuring 2.6 x 2.8 x 0.5 mm and QFN40 packages measuring 5.00 x 5.00 x 0.85 mm. These SoCs are ideal for battery-powered sensors, asset tracking, implants, and wearable device applications.
