everything RF met Del Pierson, Technical Marketing Specialist of Marki Microwave at IMS 2026. Del demonstrated Marki’s latest FastSwitch technology designed for high-power RF and microwave applications. The live booth demo focused on delivering fast switching performance while maintaining operation across wide frequency ranges and high power levels. The booth also featured a wider range of RF components, including amplifiers, mixers, attenuators, filters, and high IP2 amplifiers.
During the demonstration, Del highlighted their FastSwitch™ SOI CMOS technology, recently acquired from Lintrinsic. The FastSwitch technology is capable of handling up to 50 W of RF power while achieving the switching speeds of around 220 nanoseconds. The technology operates at frequencies of up to 13 GHz, making it suitable for a broad range of applications, including test and measurement, communications, aerospace, and defense.
The demo showed how the fast switch performs in real time, illustrating its ability to rapidly route RF signals without compromising signal integrity. They explained that this capability is particularly useful in systems that require quick signal path changes, such as automated test setups and advanced communication systems.
FastSwitch marks a relatively new direction for Marki Microwave, expanding beyond its traditional strengths in mixers and signal chain components. It is designed to address the increasing demand for solutions that combine speed, power handling, and wideband operation in a single device. FastSwitch technology is already available through direct channels and distribution partners.
