The EM9291 from Sierra Wireless is a 5G-NR Sub-6 GHz Cellular Module with 4G LTE and 3G fallback support. It delivers a peak download data rate of 4.9 Gbps and an upload data rate of 660 Mbps. This module has an embedded SIM for simplified & flexible IoT deployments with onboard carrier profile, M2M eUICC, and consumer eUICC. It supports Dual SIM Single Standby (DSSS) to switch between networks quickly and stay connected. The module has an integrated GNSS receiver that supports GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and Galileo satellite systems. It has global industry and mobile network certifications.
The EM9291 can be controlled via USB 3.1 and PCIe Gen 3/2 1 lane interfaces. It is available in a module with M.2 form factor that measures 30.00 x 52.00 x 2.38 mm and is suitable for use in a wide range of IoT applications such as industrial routers, home gateways, industrial and consumer laptops, rugged tablet PCs, video surveillance and digital signage.
