The QPF4509 from Qorvo is a Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) Front-End Module (FEM) operating at 5 GHz, supporting all channels from UNII 1-4 (5.170 to 5.895 GHz). It has an integrated 6 GHz power amplifier (PA), a single pole two throw switch (SP2T), a coupler structure, and a bypassable low noise amplifier (LNA). This FEM also has an integrated coupler for DPD feedback training and a broad-range constant slope voltage logarithmic power detector for application feedback and power control. It delivers a Tx power of up to +26 dBm with a Tx gain of 29 dB and has an RX gain of 15 dB with a noise figure of 1.8 dB.
The QPF4509 optimized for a 5V supply voltage and minimizes power consumption to allow for systems that use digital pre-distortion to achieve the high linear output power and leading edge throughput for the RF chain. It requires a DC supply of 5 V and consumes less than 190 mA of current. This module is available in a laminate package that measures 3.0 x 3.0 mm. It is ideal for Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) systems like access points, wireless routers, set-top boxes, customer premise equipment and Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
