The RFoF-6.0 GHz from RFOptic is a Programmable Bidirectional RF-over-Fiber (RFoF) System that operates from 450 MHz to 6.0 GHz. It consists of RFoF transmitter and receiver enclosures that are connected to each other by single mode fibers. Each enclosure contains 4x independently-configurable RFoF terminals that utilize CWDM technology to route RF signals in both directions, providing excellent SFDR performance. The RF chain provides a link gain of up to −5 dB, a noise figure of 32 dB, and an input P1dB of 8 dBm when used with a low-noise amplifier. For the optical chain, the system delivers an output power of 3 mW and operates at 1.31 µm and 1.55 µm.
The RFoF-6.0 GHz module also provides additional RF filtering operation to improve the loop gain isolation. This RFoF system can be controlled remotely using via HTML, REST, and SNMP interfaces. It requires an AC supply of 110/220 V. The system is available in 2x 1U indoor rack-mount enclosures that measure 440 x 476 x 44 mm (an outdoor enclosure option is also available) and have SMA (RF input/output) & FC/APC or SC/APC (optical) connectors. It is ideal for telecommunications, 5G test sites, distributed antennas, and DAS applications.
