The ST25TV02K from STMicroelectronics is an NFC/RFID Tag IC that operates at 13.56 MHz (HF-Band). It is an NFC Type 5 tag that supports single and multiple block reading or writing of the tag data by an RFID reader or NFC phone. This tag IC consists of an RF tag circuit, a 2 KB EEPROM with built-in password protections, an antenna coil interface, a 23 pF/99.7 pF internal tuning capacitance, and a tamper detector (optional). It complies with the ISO/IEC 15693 standard. This NFC tag has a user memory that is read/write protected by 2 32-bit encrypted passwords for three areas or 1 64-bit encrypted password for two areas. It has an RF interface that accesses blocks of 4 bytes with a write time of 5 ms for one block and a read access of up to 53 Kbps (customizable).
This tag ensures consumer product identification and protection using multiple mechanisms such as kill mode and untraceable mode, tamper detection (patent pending), TruST digital signature, and electronic article surveillance (EAS). The digital signature technique can be used to prove the origin of the chip in cloning detection. This RoHS-compliant RFID tag also features other protection functions – passwords with cover coding and data and configuration locks (permanent or temporary). The tag IC is available as a saw and bumped wafer or in a DFN package that measures 1.7 x 1.4 mm.
