The SHF T851 A from SHF Communication Technologies is an RF Broadband Amplifier that operates from 100 kHz to 100 GHz. It can amplify binary signals of more than 200 Gbps (100 GBaud) while its good linearity enables this amplifier to drive modulators and lasers for PAM, optical QAM, OFDM, and analog signals. This amplifier delivers a gain of 10 dB and has input/output port reflections of less than -12 dB. It uses SHF’s monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) inside special carriers to achieve its ultra-wide bandwidth and is group delay optimized to ensure signal transmission with low distortions.
The SHF T851 A requires a DC supply of +5 V and consumes 2.5 W of power. This broadband amplifier is available in a module that measures 70.4 x 30 x 31.8 mm. It is ideal for use as a laser/modulator driver (MZM, EML, VCSEL, etc.) in advanced modulation experiments (PAM-N, OFDM, etc.) or in ultrafast quantum computing interconnect applications.
