The BC118 from Sierra Wireless is a Certified Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) 4.1 module with an integrated antenna. This 2.4 GHz module provides a transmit power of 7.5 dBm and a data rate of up to 270 kbps. It has an RF sensitivity of 0.1% BER at -92.5 dBm and an operating range of up to 30 m. The module is available in a 19.3 x 14.4 x 2.8 mm package and has an embedded Bluetooth Stack with simple UART interface. The BC118 connects prosumer and industrial applications requiring data only connections for simple sensor to phone or cable replacement applications.
