The ISP3080-UX Series from Insight SiP are Multi-Protocol UWB and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) 5.1 Combo Modules that operate at 2.4 GHz (Bluetooth) and 6.5/8 GHz (UWB). They are based on Qorvo/DecaWave’s QM33110 UWB transceiver and Nordic’s nRF52833 SoC and integrates a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 CPU with 512 KB Flash and 128 KB RAM. These modules also consist of analog/digital peripherals, decoupling capacitors, 32/32.768 kHz Xtals, an accelerometer, DC/DC converters, matching circuits, and antennas. They support a wide range of protocols such as Thread, Bluetooth Mesh, Zigbee, and ANT+ NFC. These modules deliver an output power of -20 dBm to +8 dBm (BLE) and have an Rx sensitivity of -96 dBm (BLE). They have a range of 70 m and a spatial resolution of better than 10 cm.
The ISP3080-UX Series support BLE connectivity as per Bluetooth 5.1 specification, enabling the modules to offer features such as direction finding and long-range communication over Bluetooth. These standalone modules also provide OOB pairing via built-in NFC-A tag functionality with FiRa-compatible near-field interaction. They can be controlled through USB, QSPI, SPI, UART, I2S, and PWM interfaces. These RoHS-compliant combo modules require a DC supply of 2.4-3.6 V and consume 88 mA (UWB) & 14.2 mA (BLE) of current. They are available in land grid array packages that measure 12.0 x 12.0 x 1.5 mm. These modules are ideal for access control, security bubble, consumer, indoor positioning, and industrial applications.
