The RLK3006C from Raditeq is an 8-Channel RF-over-Fiber (RFoF) Module with an RF frequency range from 9 kHz to 6 GHz. It is designed for full vehicle testing and CISPR25 compliance with the ability to connect up to 8 antennas to this system. This module consists of two parts, the RadiLink model RLK3016C RX plug-in card for the RadiCentre modular test system and the RadiLink model RLK3086R 8-channel remote unit. The RadiLink RLK3016C is positioned in the control room near the EMI receiver while the RadiLink RLK3086R is placed in the vehicle and an integrated RF switch allows automatic selection of up to 8 different measurement antennas in the car, with a single RadiLink unit. It uses a battery-powered analog fiber optic connection between the antenna and the EMI receiver to ensure measurements can be performed completely galvanically isolated environment eliminating any measurement errors.
Each RF input can be configured to deliver a phantom power supply to feed active antennas. The phantom supply power is delivered by the replaceable battery pack and the output voltage can be software configured between 5V and 12V (DC), independently for each channel. Alternatively, the phantom supply for each channel can also be connected externally. Each input channel of this module has its own 20 dB low noise pre-amplifier, which can be remote controlled from 0- and 20-dB gain with a noise figure of less than 5 dB. The RLK3006C uses the optical link to provide a broad dynamic range of 88 dB that allows measurements in the presence of strong RF signals for CISPR 25 EMI applications.
This RFoF module has a 2-mW digital communication laser (at 1310 nm) and a 10-mW analog RF laser (at 1310 nm) with an ON/OFF time of less than 100 ms. It is equipped with an exchangeable Li-Ion battery pack that can be re-charged using the standard supplied external charger. The battery pack allows up to 4-hour operation of the RadiLink. Optionally, an additional battery pack can be ordered allowing easy replacement and continued battery operation. It is available in a ruggedized aluminum enclosure that measures 175.0 x 83.0 x 47.5 mm and can easily be mounted and connected to the antenna measurement setup inside the vehicle. The RLK3006C supports AM/FM/TV broadcast services (150 kHz to 944 MHz), digital broadcast (167 MHz to 2.345 GHz), and mobile services (26 MHz to 5.925 GHz).
