The RFoF-8.0GHz from RFOptic are RF-over-Fiber Transmitter & Receiver Modules that operate from 0.5 MHz to 8.0 GHz. The Tx unit uses an optical transmitter to convert RF to an optical signal, while the Rx unit converts it back to an RF signal, and the two units are connected through a single-mode fiber. Both the Tx and Rx units include LNAs and variable attenuators that enable the customer to adjust the Noise Figure, Input P1dB, and IP3 with wide dynamic range values. They deliver a link gain of up to 31 dB and a noise figure of 10 dB, with an input P1dB range of -15 to 1 dBm (when operating with LNA). These modules have a phase noise of less than -130 dBc/Hz and a VSWR of 2:1 (input/output).
The RFoF-8.0GHz RFoF modules can be controlled via a USB or RJ45 interface. They require a DC supply of 5-12 V and consume less than 385 mA (Tx unit) & 225 mA (Rx unit) of current. These RFoF modules are available in an enclosure that measures 70 x 70 x 22 mm and have SMA female (RF input/output) & FC/APC or SC/APC (optical) connectors. They are ideal for telecommunications, satellite, radio telescopes, distribution antennas, broadcasting audio and video, and timing synchronization applications.
