The WINCS02 from Microchip is an IEEE 802.11b/g/n Module that operates at 2.4 GHz. This module has a 2.4 GHz IEEE® 802.11b/g/n-compliant radio with an integrated high-power amplifier, LNA, RF switches for TX/RX control, and a hardware-based security accelerator. It contains all necessary external components and an antenna to simplify a new board design. This wireless module has a Tx power of up to 20 dBm with an Rx sensitivity of up to -97 dBm and is compliant with Single Spatial Stream of 20 MHz channel bandwidth. It can be controlled via an SPI interface. This module requires a DC supply of 3.3 V and consumes less than 304 mA (Tx) & 98 mA (Rx) of current.
The WINCS02 is available in an SMD package that measures 21.7 mm x 14.7 mm x 2.1 mm with an RF shield can on top. It has an onboard PCB antenna and a U.FL connector to support an external antenna. This IoT module is ideal for smart factories/control devices, security systems, CCTV, smart homes/lighting, smart locks, computing, wearable smart devices, and industrial control applications.
